Lion Lady Of Turquoise

Lion Lady Of Turquoise

In my previous post I noted the connection of my ancestral genetic maternal U5b lineage to the creators, developers and perfectors of Old European cave art symbolic graphical, Egyptian hieroglyphic and Phoenician alphabetic scripts of communication. All three of these systems are ancestral to modern European, Semitic and Indian scripts.

I have a connection to the most ancient known history of writing through my turquoise Sidereal Sagittarian birthstone as well. The Egyptian goddess Hathor was also known as the Lady of Turquoise, Mistress of Turquoise, Mistress of the West and Mistress of Foreign Lands. It appears to me that Hathor may have been a Lady of Old European ancestry, from foreign lands west of Egypt. The Mistress of Turquoise also conjures up connection to the lovely turquoise blue hues of Old European glaciers.

"In a temple dedicated to the goddess Hathor, the principle deity of the (turquoise) mining areas of Sinai, Petrie discovered a large number of inscriptions, many of which paid homage to the goddess. Most were written in Egyptian, but a few items, eleven in all, bore inscriptions in a writing that contained "a mixture of hieroglyphics ... although no word of Classical Egyptian could be read." One of the artifacts, the statuette of a sphinx, was of particular interest, because it bore text written in ordinary Egyptian and in proto-Sinaitic writing. ... According to Petrie, one of the possible periods attributed to this writing is the Twelfth Dynasty, 1800 BCE." [Mysteries of the Alphabet, Marc-Alain Ouaknin]

The U5b Djehutynakht mummy has been dated to around the Eleventh and Twelfth Dynastic periods of the Middle Kingdom of Upper Egypt. As U5b connects to this historical period of Egypt and to the Old European cave art proto-alphabetic graphical symbols, so too does the Egyptian sphinx through its therianthropic animistic symbolism connect to the Old European Lion Lady of Hohlenstein Stadel, a cave in Germany. In her function as the Eye of Re, Hathor was known as Sekhmet, a deity in the form of a Lion Lady.

"The oldest information about her (Hathor, the Mistress of Foreign Lands) comes from the Fourth Dynasty (c. 2613 -2494 BC), but there is some information suggesting that her cult may be older." [Ancient Origins]

Known as the Golden Age and the Age of the Pyramids, the Fourth Dynastic Period is part of the Old Kingdom. During a time of prosperity, peace and international trade, Egypt is introduced to Hathor, the Mistress of the West.
