VÖLVA™ Witch's Sight Golden Pentacle Dark Amber Amphora w/ Stand

$31.95

Heiðr (from the Old Norse adjective meaning "bright" or the noun meaning "honour") is the seeress and witch (völva) mentioned in the Völuspá (a magical poem from traditional Old European Germanic-Scandinavian Witchcraft) and is related to the story of the Æsir-Vanir war. The general assumption is that Heiðr (anglicized Heidr) is an alternate name for the witch Gullveig (where the first element of Gullveig's name, Gull-, means "gold), who, in turn, is often thought to be a hypostasis of Freyja (herself associated with golden dark amber). In Norse mythology, Gullveig is a being who was speared by the Æsir, burnt three times, and yet thrice reborn. Upon her third rebirth, Gullveig's name becomes Heiðr and she is described as a knowledgeable and skillful völva.

Exquisitely evocative of this ancient ancestral witch and goddess, this eco-friendly corked vessel is made with 50% recycled glass. Designed as a replica of the amphoras used by the ancients, this beautiful vessel is formed with two handles and a long neck narrower than the body. A gold tone Pentacle charm hung on gold plated chain makes this lovely potion bottle an enchanting adornment for your ritual altar.

Amphora measures approximately 5 3/4" tall (approximately 7.5" with stand and cork) by 3" wide.
Capacity to hold 6.1 ounces/180 ml.
